MiningNews.net Research Report 2022

Introduction

This report series is a crucial tool for industry professionals and generalist investors who need to understand core areas of mining – development opportunities, C-Suite priorities, finance, and jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction risk assessments – and whose overwhelming focus is on the Australian mining sector and nearby geographies.

With data and findings sourced from our four popular Mining Journal Intelligence reports, the 'MNN Research Report' will dive into the existing suite of databases to deliver an aggregated report with fresh commentary focusing on the the Australia-Oceania region.

MNN Research Report Key Sections:

Global Leadership Report: C-Suite Agenda – The C-Suite Agenda combines an industry survey with qualitative interviews from 36 C-Suite executives from the industry’s largest companies to determine the most pressing issues on the agenda of leadership teams today. We will breakdown the survey demographics to create a C-Suite priority hierarchy for Australia-Oceania and publish this alongside the interview transcripts of executives from large, ASX-listed miners.

Project Pipeline Handbook: The PPH is a growing database that currently hosts some 350 development stage projects from around the world. Key investment metrics are normalised to allow comparison and pushed through our unique ratings system to assess each project for its ‘investability’. The top 20 Australian assets will be presented in this new report.

Global Finance Report: The GFR creates a cross section of the financing landscape and related equity performance for the mining sector over a 12-month period, including an aggregation of secondary raisings, IPOs, and best-performed equities, alongside an assessment of the serviceability of key stock exchanges (ASX, TSX and LSE), a qualitative review of niche financing from the mining-focused private equity and alternative banking sector, and a survey to understand current investor sentiment. We will slice and dice all data to present the financing landscape as it appears to ASX-listed equities and investors focused on the region.

World Risk Report: The WRR uses publicly available risk data, the world’s only database of mining code assessments delivered by legal firm MineHutte, and our own industry survey (c.600 respondents) to deliver a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction rating system – the Investment Risk Index (IRI) – that covers 111 countries, states or provinces. Our survey also provides a hierarchy of the most pressing business and operating risks. We will focus on the Australia-Oceania jurisdictions within the IRI and use our demographic breakdown to determine the top business and operating risks according to professionals across the Australia-Oceania region.
